Sierks Media – 2025 balance sheet: Consulting absorbed advertising revenue

The North German special-interest media company Sierks Media looks back on 2025 as a year of change.
While advertising revenue for online magazines declined noticeably despite increasing visitor numbers, personal communication consulting developed into a strong business area.

Changed budgets
Jan-Christopher Sierks, active as a media producer and digital strategist for more than two decades, knows the industry from all perspectives.
With the media brands Shots Magazine, PR Agent, and Sierkscom, he specialized in credible content and editorial quality. However, in 2025, the business model shifted slightly.
“Premium brands, such as those in the automotive and fashion industries, have partially reallocated their budgets,” explains Sierks. “They focused on large media reach or social media and significantly reduced spending on smaller special-interest publishers like us.”
While traditional online advertising declined at Sierks Media, the market for online advertorials in the company's own online magazines remained largely stable.
Advice needed
However, the real winner of the year was a different segment: Individual consulting services are once again in high demand.
Sierks Media accompanied musicians, athletes, actors, influencers and specialized providers such as luxury car dealers and beauty practices on their expanded path to digital visibility in 2025.
“Customers want personal advice and a more precise understanding of how to optimally position themselves in queries through professional implementation. They expect fast, measurable results,” says Jan-Christopher Sierks.
Media visibility and strategic storytelling are key. Experience, vision, and a sense of impact are required – qualities that cannot be automated.
"This trend will continue to be a major focus for us in 2026," the media professional is certain. "Because we're starting the new year directly with consulting projects."
